Widget

I am a bit concerned that some visitors to this site are visiting several times in a short space of time. Is this indicative of a flaw in the blogger vote widget. Does anyone know how secure this widget is?

Hi Maffi,
I don't know if this helps... but... I visit your site firstly by looking at an RSS feed and then by clicking on the link to see the 'real page' rather than read the RSS page, is it me that's causing the blip? If so I do most humbly apologise, but in my defence you are worth reading in glorious technicolour rather than black and white...

It's coming online off on off on off on off on in the space a a minute or two. Several people seem to be doing this.

err - div here! What's RSS and how does it work?
I just go to one of the other bloggers, eg Halfie/Pickles, to see who has posted most recently. Preferably those with a resume/title of content, and ignore those who I know are simply going to say 'we got up, emptied the poo' and etc!
I think that means it's not me!!

4 of the 7 dont knows are mine. I have found that by doing what others are doing I can vote several times.

Dont know if its the yes votes or the no votes that are being manipulated but the poll will not be indicative of anything other than some peoples need to cheat.

Maybe, people using Internet Exploder hit the refresh button rather than the back button, so reloading your page. I do this all the time. It could re-submit any data on the voting page again.

As for the vote - The wording of the question is biased. To run a meaningful vote you have to ask a fair question without carrying any prejudice.

"Should the London Boaters be allowed to break the rules as they are doing now?"

Is very heavily biased, in that it suggests that all boaters in London break the rules. Factually it's not correct, I know it, you know it and so would invalidate any meaningful result.

The London Boaters are a specific group of people who are apparently mis-representing the situation they are in on their web site.

They may also feel that you are mis-representing them. Its all a matter of the individuals perspective.

Dontcha just love the web!
