Doesn’t this seem odd?

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

editor@britishwaterways.co.uk
The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Please try resending this message later, or contact the recipient directly.

WTF?

Means what it says - there are too many unread emails in the destination inbox, eceeding the limit set by the service provider.

The casue may either be that the email address is no longer being monitored or that it has been the subject of a Denial of Service type attcak which maliciously overloads a target.

I note that you are trying to email British Waterwyas - do they still maintain that address?

Suspect its the britishwaterways bit - Now CaRT. If there's no bounce message its probably full because nobodys looked at it since the changeover to CaRT. Try customer.services@canalrivertrust.org.uk
