Offensive?

This is Pastor McConnell  he stood accused of being ‘grossly offensive.’ In a sermon to his bretheren.LiveLeak-dot-com-e07_1452097206-z2_1452097749Mr McConnell had told his congregation: "Islam is heathen, Islam is satanic, Islam is a doctrine spawned in hell."

This is all well and good in this day and age people can accuse other people of all sorts of things. People can say they are offended and expect retribution, but the reality is if you are offended thats you! Being offended is an emotion it is not a crime. I am offended by Islam, but do I go running to the authorities? NO! I am a grown up. The day the courts start dealing with our emotions we are all on a hiding to hell.

I want to look at the words he used and their meaning, but before I do that let us not forget that most of us were bought up as Christians to one degree or other and how we see things is normally based on the basis of our up bringing.

  1. Heathen’(the heathen)
heathen people collectively, especially (in biblical use) those who did not worship the God of Israel.
    informal
an unenlightened person; a person regarded as lacking culture or moral principles.

Well proponents of  Islam do fit this category. Moslems most certainly do not worshp the God of Isreal. In fact so much do they hate the God of Israel if you ever visit Israel you can ask for the passport stamp to be placed on a separate piece of paper so you may at a later date visit Saudi. Saudi tend not to let you in if you have an Israeli stamp in your passport.

From a Christian point of view Moslems are most certailnly not enlightened people. Were they cultured they would most certainly not be destroying historical artifacts. Their Laws and culture are most certainly not acceptable in the modern western world. And their  moral principles by our ‘Christian’ based values are the worst in the ‘civilised’ world.

Islam seems to be about sex, sex, and more sex, and it is never ending! When they are not having sex with one of their FOUR wives (which is not Koranic) they are thinking about having sex. The ‘law’ such as it is, is obsessed with sex. It concerns itself with a womans periods it concerns itself with what age a (girl) child can have sex, it concerns itself with how to have non penetrative sex with an underage girl. It concerns itself with sodomising babies, The prophet himself was practicing ‘thighing’ with his six year old child bride. SIX! This involves rubbing his penis between her thighs until he ejaculates over her. Perfectly acceptable in Islam, but totally abhorent in the Western world. It is expected that a child bride should have her first period in her husbands house. Some in Islam think it OK to inspect a 5 yo childs hymen and if it is found lacking the punishent is rape and beating. What does a child think when her father closely inspects her hymen then rapes her repeatedly because he perceives it is missing? No I think such things are perceived in the west as ‘heathen’, and rightly so according to our beliefs!

  1. Satanic sa·tan·ic
    ADJECTIVE
    of or characteristic of Satan.
    connected with Satanism:
    "a satanic cult"
    extremely evil or wicked.
synonyms: diabolical, fiendish, devilish, demonic, demoniacal, ungodly, hellish, infernal, wicked, evil, sinful, iniquitous, nefarious, vile, foul, abominable, unspeakable, loathsome, monstrous, heinous, hideous, horrible, horrifying, shocking, appalling, dreadful, awful, terrible, ghastly, abhorrent, despicable, damnable.

All of these things we as Christians see as evil/satanic and most of them we see as part of Islam. Beheading, rape, whipping, beating, severing the hand/foot, gangbanging, burning, acid attacks, all satanic in our eyes.

“A doctrine spawned in hell”

Now come on who does not think that Islam is a doctrine spawned in hell. Apart from the fact that hell ia a mythical place. Our Christian upbringing shapes our thoughts on this just as Islamic upringing shapes their thoughts on us as infidels.

So there is nothing ‘grossely offencive in it This is just who we are in the same way we speak English because we are bought up with English.

Delivering his reserved judgment, District Judge Liam McNally said: 'The courts need to be very careful not to criminalise speech which, however contemptible, is no more than offensive.'It is not the task of the criminal law to censor offensive utterances.”

The Judge found that whilst the words were ‘offencive’ they were not grossely so and found the Pastor not guilty. A common sense decision if ever there was one.

We are all entitled to be offended, but to seek recompense in the Law Courts? Come on man up!

Well researched and intelligently argued matey.

I think it would do a lot of our not so enlightened 'friends' to live in an Islamic country for a while, or at least make Al Koran their bedtime reading.
