Oh what a cock up!

You may remember my progress report last Friday the last two pictures showed some particularly bad ‘joinery’ on a rickety safety fence at the bridge.

DSCF4168The old rickety fence

Well I must have hit a nerve because the fence was taken down this week and rebuilt using a different technique. The no joint methodDSCF4281The new rickety fence

Instead of proper joints the construction uses 3”sq posts 3x2 rails and nuts ’n’ bolts. This hasn’t stopped this safety fence being rickety. At a rough guess I would think it‘s as safe as Ronan Point The electrification of the bridge is surely well over budget by now! Every job they do has to be done again. One can only assume there is no project planning, no quality control and no supervision. not such a good way to do a proper job is it?
