Some facts . . . .

. . . . are just hard to believe.

“Over 1,057,000 people have been killed by guns in the USA since John Lennon was shot and killed on 8 Dec 1980.”

That's over 32000 people every year?

That’s nearly nine people every day for thirty three years?

If this is true then the USA has a bigger problem than they think yet they are still voting down laws designed to rectify this situation.

Hi Maffi,

Of all those gun related deaths 19,392 were suicides with 11,078 homicides, out of a population of over 300,000,000. Drug deaths far exceed homicides. Why the gun bills lost is simple but there isn't enough space here to explain it. Bob Rubel SC

Bob Its still 32,000 dead people every year. There is no justification for the 4,500,000 NRA members to hold such sway over the government of 300,000,000.

You can never let one faction have ultimate power in a government, if you do all your freedoms are in danger. The NRA is just one part of the opposition. We have a strong will to protect our freedoms. The lefts ultimate goal is to take our guns, but its not going to happen. We are not ready to be like the UK, Canada and Australia. This is more about political power than it is guns. Remember that in the beginning every one came here to escape oppression. I love your blog and lets stay friends.
